WCB Painted Fantasy Themed Humanoid Miniatures

Mini: D&D Miniature (DDM) -
Cormyrean War Wizard (modified)
This was a repaint and weapon swap which I had done for one of the
Hordelings Uncommon Painting Challenges. Originally the wizard had a different staff which I replaced with one from a Warhammer
Tomb Kings Skeleton Regiment box set(?). The stars on the back of the cloak look much better than the close-up picture makes them look like. I was very happy with the way the cloak turned out.

Mini: D&D Miniature (DDM) -
Human Cleric of Bahamut (modified)
This is the December 2007 repaint/mod for the
Hordelings Uncommon Painting Challenge. I had the spiked ball and chain lying around from a Warhammer
Tomb Kings Skeleton Regiment box set and wanted to see it in action so I did a quick weapon swap. The mini looked far more menacing now so I gave him a skull tower shield (from the same box set) as well and the result was a decent looking anti-paladin.

Mini: Reaper Dark Heaven Legends - Reaper - War
I was attempting to make the axe look like it was a magical blade made of elemental lava but I think it turned out too light in color. The photo doesn't do it justice either. More red/orange instead of yellow/white would have made it look better though. I was attempting to go for a 'white hot' look to the edges.

Mini: Reaper Dark Heaven Legends - Death Knight (modified)
Mini: Reaper Dark Heaven Legends - Ulthalokh the Unclean (modified)
This is a mod of a couple of different Reaper minis. I used the body (plus an extra weapon for the double axe) from the death knight and the head of Ulthalokh. I have gone through three Ulthalokh minis, two Ulthalokh right arm sprues, two Death Knight right arm sprues, and one Death Knight mini in an attempt at making a decent fighter with a double axe and this is the only finished mini I haven't dropped, mangled or put aside. By put aside, I mean there is one other Ulthalokh mini that I had started modding/painting with a double axe but have not finished. It is low on my painting priority list right now, but I will finish it eventually.

Mini: D&D Miniature (DDM) - Elf Warmage
Someone on the forums had wanted to see repaints for the character Innovindil from the Drizzt books. I never got around to posting the finished mini though since I procrastinated getting it done. I still hadn't realized how to properly paint eyes yet when I did this mini.

Mini: D&D Miniature (DDM) -
Farmer (modified)
This is a project that was inspired by a guy who posts on the
Maxminis site under the username Wraithborne. He collects executioner minis for his D&D games. When I repainted this mini for one of the
Hordelings Uncommon Painting Challenges I had been trying to figure out a better 'weapon' to give him and was matching him up with various items from my bits box. At one point I had posed him with this axe from a Warhammer
Beast Herd box set and immediately thought of the idea for this mod & repaint based on some of the descriptions and pictures of Wraithborne's collection.

Mini: D&D Miniature (DDM) -
Farmer (modified)
This was a result of another of the
Hordelings Uncommon Painting Challenges. I liked the mini, but didn't care for the 'bill hook' that WoTC gave him from the factory. I wish I could have gotten a hold of a proper scythe, but I don't mind the one I was able to come up with too much. Of course a hoe or pitchfork would have been even cooler. The scythe was made from a piece from a Warhammer
Beast Herd(?) box set?

Mini: Reaper Dark Heaven Legends - Xiao Liu, Female Monk
I painted this one for my wife who likes to run monks or rangers when she plays D&D. I was not happy with the facial paint but I am happy with the clothing. I was trying for a worn, dusty look for her outfit and it turned out like I had envisioned it would.

Mini: D&D Miniature (DDM) - Wild Elf Warsinger
This is a mini that I decided to repaint. It was ust one of those 'because I've got extras' type of project. I thought it would be a fun mini to repaint and since I had a surplus I just sat down and started painting one. I like the result. The sculpt is a really good and fun to paint.
